Bishop Jonathan Gibbs, the Bishop of Rochester, is pleased to announce that Dame Sarah Mullally, Archbishop of Canterbury, will be making a pastoral visit to the Diocese of Rochester on the 6 and 7 June.

Archbishop Sarah travelled through some parts of the Diocese on her pilgrimage ahead of her installation. This visit, will be an opportunity to welcome Archbishop Sarah more fully and to share with her more of the life and ministry of the diocesan family.

During her visit, Archbishop Sarah will spend time listening and learning about the fantastic work underway in parishes and chaplaincies to meet the needs of their communities across Medway, north and west Kent, and the London Boroughs of Bromley and Bexley.

Whether that is sharing faith and fellowship with young people through a church-led bike project, offering practical support to those struggling with the cost of living, or caring for the wellbeing of those who are ill or working on the frontline of the NHS.

Ahead of the visit, Bishop Jonathan says, "Through this forthcoming pastoral visit, I am delighted that Archbishop Sarah will be able to experience more of this diverse and vibrant Diocese, and for us to be able to share with her something of how we, as a family of faith, are serving and ministering in our communities.”

Watch a message from Archbishop Sarah ahead of her visit:

Archbishop Sarah says, "I'm really looking forward to being back in Rochester in June. I had a wonderful welcome there during my pilgrimage and I'm looking forward to finding out more about the Diocese and the way in which God is working through the Church in churches, communities, bike projects, community larders. So 'thank you', so much for your welcome and I look forward to being with you."
